Jiaji Huang – Biography

Short Bio

Jiaji Huang is a senior applied scientist at AWS, where he builds large scale language models that generate text matching human preferences. He has been working on NLP and speech problems, and contributed to multiple impactful systems, e.g., DeepSpeech of Baidu, and Bedrock of AWS. He has also been actively publishing in machine learning conferences/journals. The publications cover multiple aspects of learning (deep) representations, including interpretability, generalization, efficiency, etc.

Before working in industry, he obtained a PhD degree of electrical engineering from Duke University. His thesis is on statistical signal processing. He also holds a BS of Electrical Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China. He has an Erdős number of 3.
